These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website www.grandoccasionrental.ie and all hire and purchase transactions with Grand Occasion Rental Limited ("Grand Occasion Rental", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Ireland and based in Co. Kildare.

By placing a booking, making a purchase, or using our website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. They are subject to and should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, Delivery Policy, and Returns & Damage Policy.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under Irish and EU consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022 (Ireland) and the Consumer Protection Act 2007.

2. Definitions

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least 18 years of age to place a booking or make a purchase on our website. By confirming your booking you warrant that you are 18 or over.

If you register an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials. You must notify us immediately at info@grandoccasionrental.ie if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorised use of your account.

4. Hire Agreement — Formation

4.1 How a Contract is Formed

A legally binding Hire Agreement is formed when:

  1. You submit a booking request through our website, by phone, or by email;
  2. We issue you a Booking Confirmation; and
  3. You pay the required Deposit (or full balance, where applicable).

An acknowledgement of receipt of your booking request does not constitute acceptance. We reserve the right to decline any booking for any reason, in which case any payment received will be refunded in full.

4.2 Booking Confirmation

Your Booking Confirmation will set out the equipment hired, hire period, delivery address, delivery date and time, total charges, and any special conditions agreed. Please review it carefully and contact us within 24 hours if there are any errors.

5. Pricing and Payment

5.1 Prices

All prices on our website are displayed in Euro (€) and include VAT at the applicable Irish rate unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change without notice, but any confirmed booking will be honoured at the price quoted in your Booking Confirmation.

5.2 Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total booking value is required to confirm all hire bookings. Your chosen date and equipment will not be held without payment of the deposit. The deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances, including cancellation and force majeure events.

5.3 Balance Payment

The remaining balance is due no later than 7 days before the event date. Failure to pay the balance by this date may result in cancellation of the booking; in such cases the deposit will not be refunded.

5.4 Payment Methods

We accept payment by credit card, debit card, and bank transfer. Online card payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. We do not store or handle card numbers directly.

5.5 Late Payment

If any payment due is not received by the agreed date, we reserve the right to charge interest on the outstanding amount at the rate of 2% per month, compounded monthly, from the due date until payment is received.

6.3 Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to cancel a booking in exceptional circumstances (e.g. equipment damage beyond repair, serious accident, or events entirely outside our control). In such cases we will provide as much notice as possible and refund all payments received in full. We will not be liable for any additional losses or costs incurred by you as a result of our cancellation.

6.4 Weather

We operate in all weather conditions and are experienced with the Irish climate. Cancellation due to weather is treated as a customer-initiated cancellation under section 6.1. We strongly recommend that you take out event insurance. We are not responsible for weather-related losses.

For existing bookings, the Terms in force at the time of your Booking Confirmation will apply. For future bookings, your attention is drawn to the current version of the Terms at the time of booking.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

19. Waiver

A failure or delay by either party to exercise any right or remedy under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or remedy.
